Stat! - Updates on #118 and more

Just an update post on how things are going:
1. Motif #118 Bag- squares joined, strap in progress, must find solution for interior lining.

2. Recycled Dress - pattern found, pattern cutting in progress

3. Orange Knit Dress - yarn came in last week, on the needle, 10 rounds into knitting.

4. Spanish Lace - a custom lace order came in (from my Abuelita) and so I'll be designing and making some Spanish lace antimacassars.

5. Fonts - I'm working on two fonts. One is a pseudo 80's futuristic font based on Metal Gear Solid and Bladerunner. The other is a fun cursive handwriting font.

Experimenting with Crochet Motif #118

I wrote previously about having purchased Beyond the Square Crochet Motifs by Edie Eckman. I'm currently experimenting with motif #118 from the book, and really enjoying myself watching the colors from Lang Yarn's "Mille Colori" work its way through the motif.

This upcoming week I expect to put the squares together and make a bag. I'll post my pattern (but I don't think I can legally show Edie Eckman's part of the pattern so I'll just draw an outline for her square). My part of the design will be clearly diagrammed and you can reference her pattern from the book.

I've also found my sewing patterns to begin making a wedding dress out of recycled packing materials. I'm excited about this project, I'll keep you updated. Oh, and I also have four Pokensfor sale.

LIFT 09

The third annual LIFT09 Geneva conference was pretty eventful. All participants received this really interesting gadget called a Poken. It's a USB key with an RFID (radio frequency identification) tag inside that actively exchanges data when pressed onto another Poken. Really cool. It's basically an electronic business card, and then once the exchanges are made, you upload them and sort them on their website. The Poken site is still quite raw in its design and ease of use, but what a great idea! Anyone wanna Poken?
